Some years back a few of us from St James decided it might be a good idea to form a singing group so that we could learn new songs for worship as well as become a social group for members of the church. We couldn’t think of a name for the group until one of the hymns we were singing had the lines ‘let us all with one accord’. It was one of those light bulb moments - a sign, and from then on One Accord became our name.

On occasions we go out to sing in the community using worship songs as well as fun songs that everyone might know. We are always looking to welcome new members. At the moment as well as our singers we have instrumentalists – a guitarist, harpist/double bass player, cellist and keyboard player. There is no requirement to read music – just enthusiasm.

We meet regularly at the home of Ros and Brendan Murray in Machen. Making music is therapeutic – we all find that even after a tiring day we can get lost in the music, enjoy ‘making a joyful noise unto the Lord’, and feel much revived – especially after a coffee and something sweet to finish!

If you would like to join us or just come along for a taster and meet us please contact Ros or Brendan
